What Your Child Will Learn

Much more than just martial arts — BJJ develops the whole child.

💪

Fitness & Coordination

Classes are physically engaging, improving strength, agility, balance, and body awareness in a fun way.

🧠

Focus & Discipline

Learning techniques requires concentration and patience — skills that transfer directly into school and home life.

🙏

Respect & Teamwork

BJJ culture is built on mutual respect. Children learn to work with partners and value others' efforts.

😊

Confidence

As skills develop, so does self-belief. Children who feel capable on the mat carry that confidence into the world.

🛡️

Self-Defence

BJJ is one of the most practical self-defence systems available — children learn real skills in a safe setting.

🎉

Fun & Friendship

Above all, our kids classes are a great time. Children make lasting friendships and love coming to training.

Parents FAQ

What age can my child start?
Our Kids BJJ programme is suitable for children from around 5 years old. Please get in touch if you're unsure whether your child is ready — we're happy to advise.
Does my child need any experience?
No experience is needed at all. We welcome complete beginners and our classes are designed to introduce children to BJJ in a fun, age-appropriate way from the very start.
What should my child wear?
For the trial and early sessions, comfortable sportswear (shorts, t-shirt or rash guard) is fine. If your child continues, a BJJ Gi can be purchased — we can advise on the right size and where to get one.
Is it safe?
Absolutely. Safety is our top priority. All drilling and sparring is carefully supervised by our experienced instructor. We teach children to respect their training partners and work at appropriate levels.
Can I try before committing?
Yes — we offer a two-week free trial so your child can experience our classes with no commitment. Just sign up via the Maat app and come along!
